Biography

Tomislav Bosnić completed the History of Art and English Language and Literature graduate courses at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split (November 2021).

Since July 2022, he has been employed at the Cvito Fisković Centre in Split – a subsidiary of the Institute of Art History in Zagreb – as an assistant under the mentorship of dr. sc. Ana Šverko.

His research deals with 19th and early 20th century architecture and urbanism with a particular focus on their characteristics in Dalmatia compared to other European urban centres of the time. He is currently working on a dissertation titled “Architectural and urbanistic work of the Žagar brothers” as part of the History of Art, Cultural Heritage, and Visual Culture postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb (since December 2022).

His other fields of interest involve topics in iconography, limited not only to the 19th and early 20th century, but involving earlier eras. He is also involved in the application of 3D technologies in the field of art history and the practice of conservation-restoration.

He is a member of the research team on the institutional scientific project FEMO “Phenomena of Croatian Artistic Modernity” led by dr. sc. Ivana Mance Cipek. He is an associate on the implementation project of the new generation conservation bases project for the urban centres of Dubrovnik, Cavtat, Ston, Mali Ston and Korčula (coordinator: Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia).
