Confrotantions: Sessions in East European Art History
On 20 March 2019, the Institute of Art History organized a presentation of its activities for the participants of a workshop on Eastern European art which was concieved and developed by Maja Fowkes, PhD and Reuben Fowkes, PhD. The presentation focused on the history of the Institute, the post-war development of art history as a discipline within the humanities, the magazine Život umjetnosti, as well as specific acitivities connected to the research and intrepretation of the contemporary practices in art. The presentation was delivered by Sandra Križić Roban, PhD. In addition to the abovementioned issues, the participants were familiarized with the history of the building which houses the Institute – todays' Public Open University (former RANS Moša Pijade). The workshop "Confrotantions: Sessions in East European Art History" is part of the program of the Post-Socialist Arts Centre (PACT) at the Institute of Advanced Studies, UCL, finaanced by the Getty Foundation. Apart from IPU and Zagreb, the participants have so far visited Ljubljana, and the following sessions are to be held in Prague and Bratislava, London and Paris, Warsaw and Łódź.
