IAH in the aftermath of an earthquake
On Sunday, 22 March 2020, a devastating earthquake was recorded in Zagreb, which caused significant material damage to the residential built and cultural heritage, especially to the public institutions' buildings that care for the valuable cultural resources of the City of Zagreb and the Republic of Croatia.
Due to the current condition of our premises after the earthquake, the Institute of Art History remains closed to all users and visitors until the review by the Office for Emergency Management of the City of Zagreb is completed, and further activities will depend on their recommendations and the decisions of the Civil Protection Headquarters of the Republic of Croatia.
All employees of the Institute can be contacted via e-mail.
On this occasion, we would also like to express our sincere compassion to fellow citizens who had to leave their homes or were injured during the earthquake.
To the City's Office for the Protection of Monuments of Culture and Nature and the Departement for Protection of Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia we will offer and provide our expertises in the process of restoration of the damaged cultural heritage by the earthquake.
