Wer ist Walter?

The publication Wer ist Walter? International Perspectives on Resistance in Europe during World War II (eds. Elma Hasimbegovic, Nicolas Moll and Ivo Pejaković) is a peer-reviewed publication with 32 chapters covering various aspects and offering new insights into the topic of resistance to Nazism and related ideologies in Europe during World War II, as well as memorialisation and museological practices related to resistance since 1945. The book results from a two-year international research project of the same name and is available in open access here.

The online platform 100 Stories of Resistance features 100 stories about anti-fascist resistance during the Second World War and the memory politics and culture of resistance memory from several European countries. The platform is intended for education, serving as a bridge between the publication and the exhibition Wer ist Walter? Topography of Anti-fascist Resistance in Bosnia and Herzegovina 1941–1945, opened on July 3, 2024, in the Historical Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo.

Along with numerous international collaborators, dr. sc. Sanja Horvatinčić participated in the project as a member of the expert team. She is the author of the book chapter, several texts on the online platform and a member of the exhibition team.
